Catherine Ford is a British actress, born in Bloomsbury. After her father's departure from her household, the actress was grew to maturity by her mother, grandparents, and godparents. While she was a small girl, she struggled with obsessive-compulsive disorder. She also experienced anxiety due to the word association. Ford began acting during her teens and became a member of the National Youth Theatre. Ford was accepted into the Sylvia Young Theatre School, but decided after a week that she wasn't a good fit there. Ford decided to apply for admission to Central School of Speech and Drama and getting a spot on her third attempt she applied for and was awarded a place at Central School of Speech and Drama. Shaun Dingwall played Pete Tyler on Doctor Who. Ford was not able to finish her studies in 1993. But, by 1991, Ford had made her debut on television in an episode of Surgical Spirit. At that time, Ford adopted the stage name Catherine Tate. Tate was featured in such programs on television like The Bill, Men Behaving Badly, and London Burning. Alongside her usual stage work, Tate was a part of in the Royal Shakespeare Company in 2000-2001. However, Tate was soon gaining recognition for her stand-up comedic performances and added stand-up comedy to her show in 1996.
